Today Was A Momentous Day

Treasury yields - read 'em and weep. The three year below 100 bps.

Comments:
I hear that. Here's a bit of Momentous Day gallows humor.

Did you ever catch Seinfeld's The Opposite?

George then resolves to start doing the complete opposite of what he would do normally. He orders the opposite of his normal lunch, and introduces himself to a beautiful woman by saying "Hi, I'm George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents." To his surprise, she is impressed and agrees to date him.

By sitting in TIPS, I am playing the role of Jerry. What I lost as deflation fears grew today I gained via the flight to safety. I was Even Steven. That's just fine by me.

Jerry loses a stand-up gig and is asked to perform another one on the same night, prompting Kramer to call him "Even Steven".

Elaine really suffered though.

By the end of the episode, Elaine claims that she has "become George," but Jerry is only marveled at how things always even out for him: first Elaine was up, and George was down, and now George is up and Elaine is down.

The joy of currency deceleration.
